It's remarkably thorough. While we can't physically measure a step height or test a grab bar's stability, we can assess the vast majority of safety factors through a guided video walkthrough, and your written report includes clear, actionable recommendations based on everything we’re able to observe. For homes where very specific measurements are critical, an in-person assessment may be recommended.

After booking, you'll receive a confirmation with a video call link and a simple preparation guide. At the scheduled time, Jen guides you room by room via live video — asking you to show specific areas and angles as she assesses each space in real time. The session is conversational and collaborative.

Virtual assessments typically run 60 to 90 minutes.

A smartphone, tablet, or laptop with a camera and a reliable internet connection is all you need. A phone or tablet works best since it's easy to carry through the home. Jen will send clear instructions before your appointment so you feel fully prepared.

Jen is based in Irvine, California (Pacific Time) and accommodates clients across all time zones — including international clients in Europe, Asia, Australia, and beyond.
-
Yes — and this is one of the most powerful uses of the Global Virtual Roadmap™. Jen is experienced at building warm rapport with older adults remotely. Many families find that a virtual assessment feels less intrusive to a parent than an in-person visit, making it an ideal first step toward a larger safety conversation.
-
Your home and needs can evolve over time — mobility, routines, and even the layout of a room can shift from one year to the next. The Annual Safety Refresh ($175) is a shorter follow-up visit for returning clients to revisit your original Global Virtual Roadmap, note what's changed, and flag any new opportunities before they become problems.
Because safety doesn’t stop at state lines.
