Many people find this is a good time to start. A Future Ready assessment can be especially helpful while things are going well. Some home safety concerns develop gradually and can be easy to overlook in daily life. A proactive assessment highlights opportunities for improvement, giving you time to make changes thoughtfully and on your own schedule.

Every Future Ready assessment includes a room-by-room review of your home’s interior, including the entry, hallways, stairs, kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms. The Standard tier adds exterior areas such as walkways, steps, the garage, and garden spaces, plus an emergency readiness review. The Premier tier adds pool and water feature areas and guest suites, and the Estate tier adds additional structures and staff and caregiver quarters.

Yes. Virtual home reviews are available worldwide, in any time zone. We guide you through a live video walkthrough, room by room, as you move through your home with your phone or tablet.

Please note: A virtual home review follows the same room-by-room approach but is not a substitute for an in-person assessment. Recommendations are based only on what you show us on screen and the information and measurements you provide. We cannot independently verify the conditions, measurements, or features of the home, and some details, like exact step heights, doorway widths, and floor transitions, can only be measured in person.

Before you book, we’ll go over what is and isn’t included, so you can choose the option that’s right for your home. You’ll receive a personalized Future Ready Roadmap based on your review. All you’ll need is a smartphone or tablet, a good internet connection, and a tape measure. A friend or family member is welcome to join and help if you’d like. You don’t need to do anything special. There’s no need to clean, reorganize, or prepare your home in any way. We assess your home exactly as you live in it — that’s what helps make the findings useful. Simply be present and ready to share your goals and any areas of concern.

In-person assessments typically take 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on the size of the home. Virtual home reviews typically run 60 to 90 minutes.

You’ll receive a detailed written report with a room-by-room summary of findings, a prioritized action plan with practical recommendations, and a resource guide with product categories and general guidance. It’s written in clear, accessible language, so it’s easy to share with family members, contractors, or anyone helping you put the recommendations into place. Your included follow-up call gives you the opportunity to ask questions and discuss next steps at your own pace.

No. SafelySituated™ is a consulting service, not a contracting service. We review your home and provide recommendations, but we do not perform installations or modifications. We also don’t recommend or refer specific contractors or brands, so you remain free to choose the professionals who are right for you. If you hire a contractor in California, you can verify their license at cslb.ca.gov.

Our assessments are visual and non-invasive. We don’t test the strength or anchoring of grab bars or railings, verify building code compliance, measure floor slip resistance, or test safety systems like smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Any recommendation involving structural work, permits, or safety systems should be evaluated and installed by a licensed contractor or qualified professional.

No. SafelySituated™ is a non-medical home safety consulting service. We look at your home — its layout, lighting, and features — not your health. We do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or occupational therapy. For health-related questions, please consult your physician or healthcare provider.

Every tier includes a room-by-room assessment, a written report with your findings, prioritized recommendations, a resource guide, and a follow-up call. Larger tiers add coverage for more square footage and additional spaces, a family briefing call, and a longer follow-up call. Every fee is all-inclusive, with no extra charges for multi-story homes or travel within Orange County — the price you see is the price you pay.

Homes and routines change over time: a remodel, new furniture, or a shift in how you use a room. The Annual Safety Refresh ($175) is a shorter follow-up visit for returning clients to reassess your home, note what’s changed since your original Roadmap, and highlight new potential concerns.
